What this is

One cone. The starting point.

The EZCone is a single PVC vinyl training cone with a 40-yard (120 ft) open-reel measuring tape built into the mechanism. Pull the handle and the tape unspools. Walk to where the spacing should end. That's the measurement, no tape measure needed.

One cone gives you the measuring tool. Measured drills need a second point — another cone, an EZMarker, or anything else that holds a spot on the ground. The kits include both the cone and the markers; the single is built for buyers who already have something to pair it with, or who want to start with the cone and add markers later.

Common buyers: solo trainers who don't need a full kit, athletes adding off-day work between team practices, coaches replacing a kicked or lost cone, or anyone wanting to try the product before committing to a kit. If you're outfitting a full team, the kits are built for that.

How the tape works

Pull. Drop. Lock.

Each EZCone has a 40-yard (120 ft) open-reel measuring tape built into the mechanism. With one cone, you can measure to anywhere — pair it with a second cone, an EZMarker, or anything that holds a spot.

  1. Place the cone where the start line should be. The tape stays inside the cone, ready to pull.

  2. Walk to the spot you want to mark, pulling the tape by the handle. The tape unspools cleanly from the open reel.

  3. Drop your second endpoint at the exact yardage you need — another cone, an EZMarker, or whatever you have on hand.

  4. When you're done, retract the tape into the cone. Pack the cone and your endpoint marker, ready for the next session.

Where this fits

What it's for.

  • Solo work

When you're training alone and don't need a full kit. Set up a measured sprint, shuttle, or cone drill by pairing the cone with a marker, a second cone, or anything that holds a spot.

  • Off-day reps

Between team practices. Bring one cone and a marker for short, focused work — measured 10s, splits, or single-station agility — without unpacking a full kit.

  • Replacement cone

When a cone in your existing setup gets lost, kicked too far, or breaks. Drop in a single replacement instead of buying a whole new kit.

  • Try before a kit

If you want to try the cone before buying a kit, the single EZCone is the cheapest option — one cone, no marker.

Common questions

What buyers ask.

  • Do I need to buy a second cone?

For measured drills, yes — or something else to mark the second point. The cone gives you the measuring tape; the second endpoint can be another EZCone, an EZMarker, or anything you already have that holds a spot. If you want both pieces in one purchase, the Starter Kit includes one cone and one marker.

  • Can I use this with cones I already own?

Yes. The EZCone works as a standalone tool — pull the tape from inside the EZCone and use any standard agility cone, marker, or object as the second endpoint. The tape doesn't depend on the second item being an EZCone.

  • Does it come with an EZMarker?

No. The single EZCone purchase is just the cone. EZMarkers are sold separately in 1-, 2-, and 4-packs, or included in the kits (Starter, All-Star, Hall of Fame, Team Pack).

  • What's inside the cone?

A 40-yard (120 ft) open-reel measuring tape mounted to a PETG mechanism inside a PVC vinyl cone. The handle on the tape pulls out from the top of the cone. The tape retracts back into the cone when you're done.

  • What surface does it work on?

Grass, turf, gym floors, indoor courts. The cone sits flat on any surface; the tape works the same regardless of what's underneath.

  • How sturdy is it?

The cone is PVC vinyl, 12 inches tall, 8.2 inches at the base, 18 ounces. Noticeably thicker than lightweight practice cones from a sporting goods store. The mechanism inside is PETG.

  • How is it shipped?

Hand-assembled in Tampa, Florida and shipped in protective packaging.
